St. Vincent Foundation was established in 1989 as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation to meet the philanthropic needs of St. Vincent Medical Center. The purpose of the Foundation is to advance the Daughters of Charity mission to serve the sick and the poor with quality and compassion at St. Vincent Medical Center through fundraising, community partnerships and stewardship.
The Foundation raises funds through grants, special events and individual donors who are committed to St. Vincent’s mission.
Donors have made a significant impact over the years on enhancing care and community services. During 2007 alone donors contributed $6,063,213. These funds helped to provide the following:
- Unsponsored care and benefits for more than 18,000 patients who otherwise would not have been able to receive quality treatment.
- Health education, disease prevention, early detection and referral services to more than 35,000 people from our local community.
- Patients and their physicians access to the latest equipment including: a patient ventilation system for our critical care unit; mobile imaging system for vascular surgery; and state-of-the art diagnostic equipment for those with neurological, nerve or muscle impairments.
